Iran fest updates international docs

The 37th Fajr International Film Festival has updated the international documentary list of the Docs in Focus section with two more docs in the running.

‘Water Lilies of Monet - the Magic of Water and Light’ by Giovanni Troilo from Italy and ‘Triumph’ co-directed by Kreshnik Jonuzi, Luftar Von Rama and Charlie Askew from the US are the two new titles added to the international list of the competition.

Earlier report by ifilm has also announced a batch of 7 international documentaries to vie at the festival, including ‘Heroes’ by Köken Ergun from Turkey, ‘Eduardo Galeano Vagamundo’ by Felipe Nepomuceno from Brazil, ‘Palace for the People’ co-directed by Georgi Bogdanov and Boris Missirkov from Bulgaria and Italian director Abel Ferrara’s ‘Piazza Vittorio’.  

The international competitors also include names such as ‘Midnight Traveler’ a co-production among the US, the UK and Canada by Afghan director Hassan Fazili, ‘The Truth: Lost at Sea’ by Rifat Audeh from Jordan and ‘The Case’ by Vera Krichevskaya from Russia.

‘Docs in Focus’ is a section of the Fajr Int'l Filmfest dedicated to documentaries from around the world.  

Established in 1982, the Fajr International Film Festival celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the 37th edition of Fajr International Film Festival will take place in Tehran from April 18 to 26, 2019.
